10 Electrifying performances to rock the 2nd Annual Foundations TV Red Carpet Awards Event on April 21st

FTV News, Shrewsbury: The Foundations TV is gearing up for the extravaganza, a lavish and a spectacular 2nd Annual Red Carpet Awards Event to be held on April 21st at the Scottish Rite Museum in Lexington. The event is adorned with selected set of performances that express freedom of style and structure for the elite audience who will be attending the one-of-a-kind event. This year’s theme is Inclusion and Diversity and it will be show cased through exceptional talent. Below are the list of performers selected this year.

Kaantha: Nashua Ladies will be presenting a dance from God’s own country, Kerala. ‘Pooram’ is one of the main festivals of Kerala held at a temple in Thrissur on the day of the pooram star. In this dance , the protagonist “Neeli”, is pleading Kaanthan to take her to the Pooram festival. The flavors brought out of the old song by the fusion band ‘Masala Coffee’ are so refreshing and scintillating. The costumes are inspired by the costume of the traditional Kerala art form Kathakali and the choreography is a blend of folk and classical bharatnatyam. The spectacular story of Poonam festival will adorn the Red Carpet Stage ( Kaanthan and Neeli) .

Bollywood Medley: Dhruv Bhan is an Indian singer-songwriter, guitarist, and sarod player who loves to play everything from classic and progressive rock to Indian and Bollywood music. He has played to audiences in various cities in India, and has also had shows in Rotterdam and now Boston.  Dhruv is a song writer and is doing music production major at Berklee School of music.   Subharaj Das Ghosh is a virtuoso guitarist from West Bengal and is currently studying Performance at Berklee. This amazing duo will be performing a short medley of Hindi songs with a contemporary flavor at the Red Carpet Event.

Fusion of Bollywood and Tollywood: Ananya Venkatesan has been dancing classical and non-classical Indian dance for the past 10 years. She recently completed her Arangetram this summer under the tutelage of Mrs. Neha Parikh Sharma. She dances and has won at many competitions all around the New England community. Ananya also choreographs Bollywood dance for many kids in the Nashua area and they have won many competitions as well. Ananya is very passionate about dance and hopes to continue it for the rest of her life. This is a vibrant, Bollywood performance mixed with a little Tamil nativity at the end.

As long as you love me (song): Radha Rao is a versatile musician specializing in North Indian and Western popular music. She is an undergraduate student at the Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. “As long as you love me”” is a Western pop hit that expresses  one’s passion and desire for love. Radha has transformed this song into a jazzy and unplugged arrangement and she will mesmerize the Red Carpet audience with her voice.

Bollywood Hip Hop Dance : Tarun Swarnkar – A Traveler of Poetic Roads, Dance Streets and Acting Highway. Traveling is his passion. When he is not performing or working he am either hiking mountains, running for marathons or reading “Shree Ram Charitra Manas”  And he is a proud Mechanical Engineer by profession. Tarun will present a Hip-Hop lyrical Dance Performance on a Bollywood Party Dhamaka Song. His aesthetic dancing presence is sure to steal many hearts.

The Immortal (song): Rendition of an Evergreen classical melody ‘Thesulavuthe‘ composed in Raagamalika in 1950s, which is very popular for its melody and meticulous composition till today in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages. This song will be presented by Lochan Karthikeyan, a sensational and award winning teen singer from New England.

Ghoomar Dance: This is a  semi classical and Rajasthani folk  Ghoomar Dance, choreographed by Pooja Tiwari. Pooja is the director of Shri Shivam Performing Arts. This dance will be performed by dancers who are successful professionals from different walks of life who have passion for dancing. This dance choreographed by Pooja provides all dancers the platform to express their talent and creativity on the Red Carpet Stage.

Bhajan: Shuchita Rao a well-known Hindustani music performer, teacher and freelance journalist from the Boston area who has published four CDs and a book on classical music. She works as a SAP technical trainer in Boston University’s Human Resources department. Shuchita Rao will open the Foundations TV Red Carpet Awards Event with a Krishna Bhajan. This Krishna Bhajan is written by the saint poet Soordas and is from Shuchita’s CD album titled “ A Spiritual Journey”

Bharatnatyam dance on Ed Sheeran  – Shape of You Cover by Indian Raga: This dance will be performed by the gorgeous Manasa Jayanthi. Having been trained in Bharatha Natyam for over 22 years this performance is a homage to the ability this art form has given her to find a balance between the east and west cultures.  This is a  marvelous semi-classical dance and music mashup of a popular tune provides an exclusive blend of inclusive diversity.

Bollywood Song: Professionally, Shilpi is a software engineer and works as a Director, Research and Development at eClinicalWorks. Born in musically inclined family, she grew up nurturing her gift of music while being trained by her Guru ‘Shri. Sushil Kumar’ ji and Smt. Swati Panda. Back in India she mesmerized audiences with her impressive voice at various cultural events and won many state and national level awards. Shilpi brings along a co-singer Merci Siele to perform a Bollywood song sequence at the event this year.
