Harvard Tamil Chair raises $25,000

FTV News, Cambridge: After a grand Walkathon in Spring-2017, Tamils from the states of New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island came together again and conducted a great musical evening to raise funds for the great “Harvard Tamil Chair”.

The event was featuring the Karthick Iyer, a Violinist & Vocalist from Chennai, performs IndoSoul along with his music band and Musician/Singer Devan Ekambaram. It was very well organized and well attended on September-30 at Concord Middle School, Concord, MA. There was whopping $25,000 in ledges and donations received for the cause. Both of the musicians were humbled by the standing ovation for their enthralling music of the evening.
Dr.Thirugnana Sambantham, Founder of “Tamil Chair inc” presided over the event and pleaded the crowd to donate generously. Sridevi Karthikeyan and Bamiela Venkat have co-hosted and facilitated the donors by welcoming them on the stage.
The event was supported and arranged by volunteers from Boston Tamil Association, Indian Friends of New England, Kalaimagal Tamil School, Kolam Academy of Dance, Kolam Media Creations, New England Tamil Sangam, Rhode Island Tamil School, Rhode Island Tamil Sangam and Tamil Makkal Mandram.
